We’re an American family living just outside of Bitburg, in the scenic but often-damp Eifel countryside of far-western Germany. We got the crazy notion to buy a haus here, and even though it’s not the renovated barn/carriage house/crumbling country manor of our dreams, it’s pretty cool—when the plumbing and heating are working properly. When we aren’t traveling, we live a pretty quiet life. Stop by for frequent doses of Gemütlichkeit, which just basically means a sense of coziness and intimacy--and an unhurried pace to counter the frenetic nature of modern life. Doctor's orders! Oh, and a special hello to anyone visiting from the Spangdahlem Air Base community!
What a lovely magazine! Interiors/lifestyle magazines that are willing to do their own thing are so hard to come by these days. LivingEtc is the only one I really like any more. If my German wasn't so rusty, perhaps this one might be added to my list. ;)
Hello you, I know who this is. Hope you have settled into your new home okay. Ive popped by your other blog a few times to see if you had had time to update. I love your 'new place' X
parTea lady, glad you enjoyed the pics. Thanks for stopping by!
Hey Kitten, glad to see you again! I was worried that you had stopped blogging due to that nasty troll, so I was delighted to find that you're still around!
Love that red stool in the third photo. Also, I have a thing for those lucky oriental kitties, like in the last photo. I always get the urge to touch their upright paws, although I'm not sure why! ;)Maureen
Maureen, I love the maneki neko kitties, too--funny, I got so used to seeing them everywhere in Japan that I never thought to buy one myself while we were there!

Nice to see the new digs. We seem to be on the same continent. Good luck in your new home.

xo.
Thanks, Liza--and yes, we are indeed now on the same continent!
Krissy, I agree about LivingEtc. As far as Living & More is concerned, I don't read too much German yet, so I'm really in it for the pretty pictures!
Looks like a great magazine - lots of color. I like the purple tights with the blue dress on that model, the colorful walls and pink page borders.
Thank you for visiting me at Tea and Talk.
