Vintage Anthropologie 2

From February 2008:

So, does somebody here at this blog have a bit of a thing for caravans?  Okay, yes--I like them, a lot.  They're so cozy and eclectic, as a rule.  I'd love to have one sitting in my back yard.  But mind you, I wouldn't want to travel in one.  I am so not a camper.  I have tried, people--oh, how I have tried--but sleepless nights do not become me.  I digress.

Bonjour,
Caravans do seem to be big in blogland right now, they do seem cozy. I could take a trip in one...at least to drive to a hotel! Love that blue dress at the top. No Anthro in Paris but plenty of other places to lure me in.
Thanks for coming by about the Mcdo macs - it is wierd!
A bientôt

A real gypsy caravan drawn by a huge pied gypsy cob along English country lanes -- now there's a dream. Of course, I'd want to go back in time so there wouldn't be the traffic.

What can I say? I was seduced at an early age by the Rackham illustration of Mr. Toad's caravan...

Hi Diane,
Yes...You are a contestant in the game show...I think I see you coming down the road in your Caravan right now. You took a couple of Tylenol and the ride was smooth as puddin'. I hope you WIN but most of all I hope you have fun playing! Good therapy. Cheers!

The coolest store ever is Anthropologie's main store in downtown Philadelphia, housed in an old mansion.

I know what you mean. Years ago, when we (temporarily) had some money, I bought a boat. Quite a vessel; inboard engine and a cabin with a galley and it could sleep two.

Well, we two tried to sleep in it -- just once. We anchored in a local bay and lay there in our bunks, listening all night to the slap-slap-slap of little wavelets against the sides of the boat.

It sounded like someone at the door, knocking pleadingly to be let in. We never tried it again.

My parents have one in the back yard. It comes in handy for family photo shoots.

Good idea to just keep one in the yard and decorate to your hearts content!!

That's one thing I love about Anthropologie - it has such a strong sense of style that's sitting outside of trendiness a bit and it is more timeless. The settings for their catalogs are amazing.

Love, love caravans. So romantic, at least in the magazines, or decorated in one's backyard. Yes, the make a perfect backdrop for a photo session. I've spent quite a few nights in a caravan in the UK and Switzerland. Not, mind you, in a beautifully staged one, but a practical one...where the views outside are so much prettier.
