Since I read almost no Japanese, I know next to nothing about Chiaki, except that she's a Japanese pop singer who has a daughter. Mostly I know is that her aesthetic is pretty adorable.
I found this mook in a department store several years ago but didn't buy it at the time. I happened upon it serendipitously last year on Amazon.jp and knew I should get it, especially since I found a cheap used copy (I don't just miss Japan, I miss Amazon Japan!).
I'll share a different Chiaki mook another time. I hope her world is as sweet as it looks.

I LOVE this! I agree with Celestial Charms - It reminds me of some memory of being a child...in Japan...except I've never lived in Japan as a child, and now I long to.

I'd love to hear more about your Japan fascinations. I've never been to Japan, but I've been intrigued by the Japanese obsession with style while browsing street style books at my bookstore and seeing girls dressing as dolls, and obsessed with Disney or Goth or some odd thing. Sometimes I feel as if Japan is such a separate exotic cultural world - so do share!

Ooh, this looks like a good one! I too love all things japanese, especially the craft/fashion/food books. So inspiring! We are blessed with a Kinokunia bookstore here in NYC, so it's easy to indulge my habit.
