We're nearing the end of our summer grape-tomato harvest. I also decided to bring in some more lemon balm and thyme to dry, as I have a ton of both. Like my colander? It's a Japanese rice-rinser/strainer--hence the pouring spout and tiny holes on the bottom (which you can't see in this photo). Real Japanese rice needs to be rinsed before it's cooked, in case you didn't know.
We'll be doing a bit of fall planting in our little raised beds this weekend. What are you growing in your neck of the woods?

Your grape tomatoes look good, i did not have time to do any this year!
how do you use lemon balm?
do you cook japanese rice?
All I have left is some tomatoes that never ripened--cool weather hit us too soon and since I planted them a little late, we didn't have too many this year. Next year I'll have to try grape tomatoes. They look so good!
Catherine and Betsy--I'm still surprised at how well our grape tomatoes turned out! It has helped that the weather has stayed warm for longer than usual.
Coco--so far, I have used lemon balm only in herbal tisanes. While living in Japan, I always bought "real" Japanese rice, but the rice I buy here doesn't need to be washed...
awe... those tiny tomatoes are darling!
Rather jealous! I moved house this year and we won't be able to have a veggie garden this summer
